      FOI@Pulau Pinang: Getting Started

      1) Registration and Email Verification

      This process is for creating your new account to access the platform.

      1. Navigate to the Site: Go to the main login page of the platform.
      2. Create an Account: Look for a link that says "Create new account" or "Is this your first time here?" and click it.
      3. Fill Out the Form: You will be taken to a registration form. Fill in all the required fields, which usually include: Username, Password (make sure it meets the security requirements), Email address (this is critical for verification), First Name and Surname.
      4. Complete the Registration: Click the "Create my new account" button at the bottom of the form.
      5. Check Your Email: The platform will send a verification link to the email address you provided. Go to your email inbox and open the message.
      6. Verify Your Account: Click the verification link inside the email. This will confirm your account and take you back to the platform, where you can log in.

      2) Join a Session

      This is how you join a specific session or event on the platform.

      1. Log In: Log into the platform using your new account credentials.
      2. Find the Session: Navigate to the session you wish to join. You can usually find it by browsing the list of events or using the search bar.
      3. Select to Join: On the session page, you will see a button or a link, often titled "Join this session" or "Enrol". Click on this option.
      4. Confirm Your Participation: Once you click the button, you are now officially joined and will have access to its content and activities.

      3) Insert Participation Key

      If a session requires a special key for access, this is how you use it.

      1. Find and Select the Session: Follow the same steps as above to navigate to the session you want to join.
      2. Enter the Key: Instead of a simple "Join" button, a box will appear asking for a "Participation key."
      3. Input the Key: Enter the key provided to you by the event organizers into the text box.
      4. Submit: Click the "Join" button. If the key is correct, you will gain access to the session content.

      4) Edit Your Profile Name

      This is how you change your personal information on your platform account.

      1. Log In: Log into your account.
      2. Access Your Profile: In the top right corner of the page, click on your profile icon or your name. A drop-down menu will appear.
      3. Go to Profile Settings: Select "Profile" from the drop-down menu, then click the "Edit profile" link.
      4. Change Your Name: You will see a form with your account details. Find the fields for "First name" and "Surname" and make your desired changes.
      5. Save Changes: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Update profile" button to save your new name.
